Production software solutions from Hexagon have long been recognised as an integral part of the backbone of British industry – giving manufacturers a competitive edge over foreign competitors on their Smart Factory journey.

And Hexagon Manufacturing Intelligence stepped up its support for the British supply chain, by providing free offline licensing and remote access options during the COVID-19 lockdown, meaning that customers could remain productive while working from home.

In normal times, the state-of-the-art software is synonymous with supporting British companies, enabling them to compete with cheap foreign imports, safeguarding British jobs. And it’s not just one industry sector: Hexagon’s wide range of software packages are valued by companies, both large and small, in aerospace, medical, automotive, motorsport, electronics, power and energy, heavy industry, and general manufacturing businesses, to name but a few.

Software such as EDGECAM, VISI, RADAN, WORKNC, NCSIMUL and FASYS are used by British manufacturers across the production machining, mould and die, and sheet metal industries to design their products, and then optimise the production processes of nesting and creating toolpaths. This means they can stay strong and lean, manufacturing top quality components and finished products on extremely quick turn-around times, competing cost-effectively against foreign imports.

When companies followed the British Prime Minister’s advice about employees working from home during the Coronavirus crisis, Hexagon offered learning and remote working solutions to both current customers and non-customers who could benefit from the technology.

During the crisis Hexagon also granted a number of free licences for companies to specifically produce PPE and medical equipment. For example, a free temporary licence from VISI enabled XL Precision Technologies to increase capacity by up to 40 per cent, dedicated to manufacturing parts for ventilators and respirators. ALPHACAM granted a free evaluation licence for Codem Composites to fully commission a recently acquired Blackman & White CNC machine to specifically cut the full range of parts and sizes for scrubs for NHS frontline workers.

Hexagon is exhibiting at #BBLive2020! Find out more and get your tickets here.
